Appalachian Mountains Litter

Week 2 is chill- Irene is busy feeding and cleaning around the clock. A breeder can do laundry, ENS, trim nails, and take weights. and take in the Transitional Period.

Midi and Higby were the first to open their eyes on Day 11.

On Day 12, Ellen, Chic-Choc, Carleton, Woody, Laurel, and Frissell opened their eyes.

Pico took her time and waited until Day 13 to open her eyes.

The eyes opening indicates the beginning of the Transitional Period. A startle reflex will signal the end of the transitional period between sight and hearing. Once the puppies can hear, that is the beginning of the Socialization Period.

Far-More Shade fleece bedding and whelping blankets arrived. The company threw in some extra toys <3

It was interesting to see which puppies wobbled over the toys to get to Irene and which ones took the long way around. The toys make crackling noise that they can’t hear just yet.
